Joshua Tree, my isolation in nature.
Reconnecting with the planet and self in the same moment.
A clarity of thought pierces the silence as our sun beats down.
As my self begins to restore a recognition of higher consciousness.
A replenishment of a very human energy fills my body and I begin to believe again.
The words make an effort to describe what Joshua Tree means to me. The images endeavour to capture a sense of that meaning. They are totally raw, unedited on 35mm film.
I looked down at my roll and saw I had shot 35 exposures on my roll, I had one capture remaining. So I looked towards the sun and silhouetted against its fading light, there it was, the Joshua Tree's first bloom of spring.
